Notwithstanding Dermot's name and whether or not it's "funny" sounding, I take issue with him being labeled "a somewhat failed rom-com actor". In addition to "MBFW", Dermot has starred in many other successful films, whether they be rom-coms or other genres. Believe me, he brings much pleasure to me, as I'm sure he does to his countless other female (or otherwise) fans. I plan on seeing this movie solely based on the fact that *he* is in it; I could give a flip about Clooney or Pitt. In my opinion, he has more charm and charisma than those two hoo-hahs combined. Bring on the Mul-roo-ney!!!

Well, I'm half-Irish and have a funny-sounding name, so I don't think the one necessarily precludes the other. But for Americans, neither of those names are particularly common-- I've never known anyone with either that first or last name. Plus, he pronounces it Mul-ROO-ney, in the Irish fashion, rather than Mul-ROW-ney, in the Americanized one.
